CLIEDIS Virtual On-Demand Training
CLIEDIS is excited to start 2017 by being able to offer its members comprehensive, virtual, on-demand education on CLIEDIS and CITS.  The CITS Education Series is comprised of 23 short video modules providing 5 hours of training. The different sessions cover business needs, technical requirements, and project management aspects of CITS and CLIEDIS related efforts.

Share internally and ensure your resources obtain the education they need for successful implementation.  The full series agenda is included at bottom of this message.

CLIEDIS CITS Education Series

Part 1: Business Requirements

This section provides an overview of CLIEDIS and CITS and supports making the business case for implementing feeds. Sessions include:

  • CLIEDIS and CITS (10:41 min) – Overview of CLIEDIS and CITS; who we are; mission; what is CITS
  • CLIEDIS Priorities (6:53 min) – Covers the key feeds CLIEDIS is focusing on, their purpose and how they work together
  • Business Case Overview (7:33 min) – Overview of business case for feeds
  • Making The Case Storyboard (13:30 min) – Detailed business case for implementing feeds. Voice-over to storyboard that is separately available for members for internal use

Part 2: Common Technical Requirements

This section covers the technical XML and ACORD items that are common across all CITS standards. Sessions include:

  • XML Basics (17:46 min) – XML principles utilized in CITS feeds
  • ACORD Basics (16:53 min) – Basic ACORD concepts utilized in CITS feeds
  • CITS Basics (14:37 min) – Common CITS principles that apply across feeds. Includes file naming conventions, required, minimum, above minimum data sets; mapping considerations
  • Entity Recognition Considerations (4:23 min) – Overview of role of entity recognition for feeds and the technical rules applied
  • CITS Common Data Structures (26:29 min) – Reviews the common data structures utilized in the CITS Application Notification, Pending Case Status and Book of Business

Part 3: Feed Specifics (Application Notification, Pending, Book of Business)

This section builds upon the topics in Part 2 to describe the specific requirements for implementing each CITS feed. Sessions include:

  • CITS Base Policy Guide Requirements (4:21 min) – Overview of the base policy guide that is used for the Application Notification and Book of Business feeds
  • CITS App Notification Requirements (15:34 min) – Requirements specific to the CITS Application Notification feed
  • CITS Pending Requirements (17:52 min) – Requirements specific to the CITS Pending Feed.
  • CITS Book of Business Requirements (21:22 min)  – Requirements specific to the CITS Book of Business feed

Part 4: Resources / Planning / Communication / Delivery Aspects

This series goes beyond the data structures to the project planning and methodologies involved in implementing a feed successfully. Sessions include:

  • CLIEDIS Resources (10:24 min) – Overview of the various resources CLIEDIS provides to support CITS feeds;  how they interact to support implementation
  • CITS Implementation Best Practices-Carrier (18:09 min) – Focuses on the project planning and communications involved in any carrier’s CITS implementation project
  • CITS Implementation Best Practices – Feed Recipient (9:05 min) – Discusses CITS Implementation Best Practices focusing on the vendor recipient expectations
  • CLIEDIS Approval Process (8:04 min) – Overview of the CLIEDIS approval process and steps involved
  • Delivering Feeds (2:47 min) – Describes the basic expectation of sending files from carrier to distributor (SFTP)
  • Working with Vendors (3:38 min) – Describes relationship responsibilities of the carrier with the vendors that will receive feeds

Part 5: Resources / Planning / Communication / Delivery Aspects

To enable successful implementations, CLIEDIS has managed a series of correlating work efforts to better support this market. This set of sessions hit upon the correlating initiatives. Sessions include:
